An Autumnal Still

A mewling babe lead me to a bug long dead; that along with mushrooms born in the moist grass and pecans fallen from their tree led me to an impromptu photoshoot. The summer heat still clung onto my skin, but within my bones I felt the stir of autumn. The South is sluggish to shrug off the summer season, a fact I have lamented repeatedly throughout my years; and as the anticipation builds for the true emergence of fall, my patience slowly fading, this still life and its feel of those sacredly cool days will have to suffice...
